Do you like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale? We started designing this recipe to duplicate this famous microbrew. In the end, our Ultimate IPA came out a little stronger, but it was so good that we stuck with it. Many customers who are big Sierra Nevada fans have reported that this recipe is even better, which is a great compliment! This beer is not only one of our top 10 best-sellers, it's often the top seller. This award-winning recipe produces a medium-bodied American-style IPA with amber color and lots of hop character. Ultimate Pale Ale includes 6 separate hop additions! We use 8 pounds of quality malt extract, plus a blend of toasted malt and several crystal malts in this recipe, along with hops from Washington and Oregon. Dave Miller (author of "The Complete Handbook Of Homebrewing") once judged this beer and called it "A very nice example of the style."
All our Beer Kits come in a variety of Formulations with two yeast styles and enough ingredients to make 5 Gallons. You can choose from Malt Extract with Steeping Grains, Partial Mash, and All-Grain. You also can choose between Dry and Liquid Yeast. We recommend purchasing an ice pack for liquid yeast purchases that will be shipped.
