California Ale Yeast WLP001

White Labs California Ale Yeast (WLP001) was the first strain of yeast produced by White Labs back in 1995. It is the best selling yeast from White Labs, and is famous for its clean flavors and hardy fermentations. It will accentuate hop flavors and aromas and attenuates well, even for high gravity beers. It's particularly known for its use in hoppy beers.

It can be used in almost any style of ale ranging from IPAs to Porters and even Kolschs. It makes a fantastic all-around house strain.

Attenuation: 73-80

Flocculation: Medium

Alcohol Tolerance: High (10-15%)

Optimum Fermentation Temperature: 68-73 F
