Irish Ale Yeast WLP004
White Labs Irish Ale Yeast (WLP004) is a yeast that comes from one of the oldest stout-producing breweries in the world. The medium attenuation helps with a dry finish that promotes roasty notes. Esters help to round out the overall flavor making a soft drinkable stout.
While you would naturally gravitate towards this yeast for a stout, it is really great in many beer styles. It will particularly shine in a malty British style like a Stout, Porter and Brown Ale. However, it could be used in practically any beer style such as: American Amber, American Brown Ale, American IPA, American Pale Ale, American Porter, Barleywine Ale, Cream Ale, English Brown Ale, ENglish IPA, English Old Ale, English Pale Ale, ESB, Foreign Export Stout, Imperial IPA, Imperial Stout, Irish Dry Stout, Irish Red Ale, Kolsch, Oatmeal Stout, Ordinary Bitter, Scotch Ale (wee Heavy), Sweet Stout, Wheat Ale.
