This 2 stage fining kit is sized to dose a 5-6 gallon batch of beer or wine. Each kit includes a package of liquid Kieselsol and liquid Chitosan finings. This combination accelerates the sedimentation of yeast and other particulates, leaving your beverage brilliantly clear in as little as 12 hours - although it can take up to 48 hours.
It will not clear pectic hazes or cloudiness caused by hard water.
*Note Chitosan is a shellfish derivative*
Usage: Add the Kieselsol package to your beverage after fermentation and stir gently. Wait 1 to 24 hours and then dissolve the Chitosan in 1 fl. oz. of warm water and gradually add this diluted Chitosan solution over a 30 second period to your beverage. Stir gently during this time. Allow the beverage to clear completely before racking. Clearing time can range from 12 to 48 hours.
