Abbey Ale Yeast WLP530
White Labs Abbey Ale Yeast (WLP530) is a traditional Belgian abbey yeast strain. It has a very high alcohol tolerance, up to 15% ABV. It will produce cherry, plum, and pear esters. It has medium flocculation that results in clear, drinkable beer.
WLP530 Abbey Ale Yeast is POF+ meaning that it will contribute phenolic characteristics to finished products.
It is a superb choice for use in Dubbels, Tripels, and Belgian Strong Ales, but also works beautifully in Belgian Blonds, Belgian Dark Strong Ales, Belgian Table Biers, Belgian Wits, Biere de Gardes, and Saisons.
Flocculation: Medium to High
Alcohol Tolerance: High (10-15%)
Optimum Fermentation Temperature: 66 - 72F
