German Ale II Yeast WLP003

White Labs German Ale II Yeast (WLP003) is a Vault Yeast Strain that is only available for limited times. It has a strong sulfur component that will reduce with conditioning. Lager-like in flavor, it will ferment clean and produce subdued fruity esters. Comparable to WLP029 German/Kolsch Ale Yeast the fruity esters are more present in the WLP003 strain.

WLP003 when available is a great strain for clean ales like Kolsch, Altbier and German-Style Pale Ales. It is also is a great fit for Blonde Ales.

Attenuation: 73-80

Flocculation: Medium 

Alcohol Tolerance: Medium (5-10%)

Optimum Fermentation Temperature: 65-70 F
