
San Diego Super Yeast WLP090
White Labs San Diego Super Yeast (WLP090) is known for its quick fermentations. It is a lower ester producing strain and produces a neutral flavor and aroma profile that is similar to WLP001 California Ale Yeast. Due to the high attenuation this strain produces very dry beers with increased perceived bitterness. It also has a high alcohol tolerance which makes it a suitable yeast strain for a variety of styles and beverages. It is a great all around house strain and is ideal for hop-forward beers.
WLP090 San Diego Super Yeast works fantastically in Double IPAs (DIPAs) and Barleywines, but also in Ciders and Meads!
Not only does this yeast strain work well in the aforementioned, but it also works wonderfully in the following: American Amber, American Brown Ale, American IPA, American Pale Ale, American Porter, Barleywine Ale, Cream Ale, Dusseldorf Altbier, English Brown Ale, English Old Ale, English Pale Ale, ESB, Foreign Export Stout, Imperial IPA, Imperial Stout, Irish Dry Stout, Irish Red Ale, Kolsch, Oatmeal Stout, Ordinary Bitter, Scotch Ale (Wee Heavy), and Wheat Ale.
