Brett Blend #1 Where da Funk? OYL-210
Omega Yeast's OYL-210 Brett Blend #1: Where da Funk? is a blend from one Brett-famous Colorado brewery strain and another strain that was formerly classified as a Brett (although it is now known to actually be a Saccharomyces). The result of these two combining together is huge tropical fruit aromas that mingle well with fruity aroma hops. It is important to note that the aroma intensity will fade a bit during conditioning.
Brett Blend #1: Where da Funk? has not only a wide temperature range but it finishes very dry. It will leave neither too much funk nor too much body, and it is even recommended that you add flaked oats for body when using this blend. The mild funk level and low acidity is consistent even when using extended aging.
Flocculation: Very Low
Attenuation: 78-88%
Optimal Temperature Range: 68-80F
Alcohol Tolerance: 11%
This strain tests positive for the STA1 gene, an indicator that this strain may have the ability to metabolize dextrins over time, resulting in higher than expected attenuation.
