West Coast Ale I OYL-004

Omega Yeast's OYL-004 West Coast Ale I is popularly called "Chico". It is a reliable, versatile and popular neutral foundation that offers the perfect backdrop to display malts and hops. It is often used as a house strain especially because it is moderately flocculent but highly attenuative. It ferments crisp and clean with light citrus notes when fermented less than 66F.

If you are looking to highlight hops you could also try Omega Yeast's DIPA OYL-052 or British I OYL-006. If you are looking to display malt characteristics more you could also try Omega Yeast's West Coast II OYL-009 or Scottish Ale OYL-015.
