Foreign extra stout is a stronger variant of traditional Irish dry stout originally brewed for the tropical regions. The higher alcohol and hopping rates helped the stout survive the long journey to the colonies. Full body but with more malty flavor due to high alcohol content. High hop rate, but no hop flavor or aroma. Slight sourness, sweetness and diacytl is allowable. Low to medium carbonation. May be dry or sweet. Much higher starting gravity than Irish Stout, with a slightly more complex flavor due to high alcohol content.

 

All our Beer Kits come in a variety of Formulations with two yeast styles and enough ingredients to make 5 Gallons. You can choose from Malt Extract with Steeping Grains, Partial Mash, and All-Grain. You also can choose between Dry and Liquid Yeast. We recommend purchasing an ice pack for liquid yeast purchases that will be shipped.
