Melba™

Melba™ is an Australian grown aroma hop that has an alpha acid range of 7-10% and a beta acid range of 2.5-5%. It is owned by Ellerslie Hop Estate and is affectionately known as "The Dame of Hops". While traditionally considered an aroma hop it does have dual use proprieties and has been successfully used as such. 

When used early it imparts clean and a somewhat spicy bitterness. It features a high oil content and has similarities to Galaxy®.

The aroma characteristics are that of passionfruit, grapefruit, citrus and summer.

Melba™ works as an interesting addition in IPAs and Pale Ales.

You could possibly substitute Galaxy® for Melba™.

Co-Humulone as % of Alpha Acids: 25-35%
Total Oils (mL/100g): 2.0-4.0
