Mistral
Mistral is a French grown dual purpose hop that has an alpha acid range of 6.5-8.5% and a beta acid range of 3.1-3.8%. It is grown in the Alsace Region of France and is owend by Hops France under Cultivar/Brand ID GS 26.
When used in the kettle the bitterness is very clean and sweet - not at all harsh.
Mistral is completely unique with a character that is nearly impossible to replicate without blending multiple varities. There is a citrus-like character that can have Muscat grape or wine-like notes with even a little hint of pear in the aromas and flavors.
It would be a great addition to your next IPA, Saison, Pale Ale, Belgian Ale or even Pilsner.
