Amber Malt is Also known as Biscuit Malt
Amber is the lowest coloured of the roasted malts and imparts a toasty, biscuity maltiness to bitter, ales, milds, porters and stouts, good for depth of flavour without too much intensity. It has no diastatic power and should only be used up to 15% of the grist. It can add an amber hue to beer.
This pales malt is made using a roasting technique and after conventional kilning, the malt is drya nd pale in color hence it is also known as "white malt". Roasting the malt causes the flavor to be transformed through the application of heat and the temperatures used determine the color and flavore of the roasted malt.
Flavor: Dry, Biscuit, Bready, Slightly Toasted, No Residual sweetness
