This crystal malt comes from Bairds Malt nad has a distinct toffee flavor that becomes more intense as the color darkens. Roasted and burnt flavors will become present in darker crystal malts.
It is typically used at a rate of 5% of the grain bill for British Bitters and Pale Ales
Lovibond: 30-37
It can be used to give color and flavor to pale lager beers as well.
It will impart a sweet, toffee, caramel, burnt sugar, raisin flavor that can verge into caramel, treacle, nutty, and stewed fruit.
