Chicory Root

Chicory Root was used during WWII as a substitute for coffee during rations, and one taste of it you can understand why - it has a very similar taste to ground coffee beans. It has an intense taste that can be described as warm, nutty, woody, and earthy. Typically used in Porters and Stouts, it's uses are truly endless when you want to impart that coffee flavor, either alone or in conjunction with actual coffee or espresso.
