These lightly kilned barley flakes are a type of malt produced from steeped barley that has been germinating for a very short period of time. They retain many of the characteristics of raw barley and are used to improve foam stability and to balance malt with high solubility. They will impart a rich dry-grainy flavor to beer and are used primarily in stouts. This malt will improve head formation and stability.

The Chit Barley Flakes only come unmilled.
