Galangal Root

Galangal Root is closely related to ginger and turmeric and its flavor is most reminiscent of ginger. Ginger will over notes of fresh, sweet and spicy flavors while the Galangal Root will give you a sharper, spicier and slightly more peppery notes. You can get notes of musk and root or earth from the dried glangal root. It is often described has having overtones of pine and hints of citrus.
