Omega Yeast's OYL-106 German Lager I is believed to be the world's most used lager strain. It can produce a convincing lager at ale temperatures. It has a versatile, crisp, malty profile, and light esters. It has a wide fermentation range that gives it a diverse profile. Fermenting in the low temperature range (45-55F) it will maintain a more crisp profile, while fermenting in the higher temperature range (65-68F) will bring out slightly heightened esters. A diacetyl rest is recommended with this strain.
