Helga (Southern Hallertau)
Helga also known as Southern Hallertau is an Australian grown aroma hop that has an alpha acid range of 5.4-7.3% and a beta acid range of 5-7%. It is owned by Hop Products Australia (HPA) under Cultivar/Brand ID A-86-29. It is a descendant of German Hallertau Mittelfruh. It has been commercially discontinued but until the current crop runs out you can still find some.
It features the same notes as its parents with pleasant noble characteristics and is known to be foster a forgiving and refined character with subtle herbal notes.
Helga is a suitable choice for both your Ales and Lagers.
You could substitute Hallertau (US) or Hallertau Mittelfruh (GR) for Helga.
