Licorice Root

Licorice Root is something that people either love or hate, think Black Licorice. There is a bitterness present that is almost overwhelmed by a sweetness that can be reminiscent of anise and fennel. It can be used to flavor beer or homemade Root Beer and is traditionally used in dark beers like Porters and Stouts.
