Pacifica is an aroma hop that has an alpha acid range from 5 to 6% and a beta acid of 6%. It is a triploid hop that is sometimes known as Pacific Hallertau.
It is known for its aromatic properties, which are spicy and decidedly floral. This hop has a moderately low cohumulone and higher caryophyllene. There are also citrus notes present and it can impart aromas of orange when used late in the boil. Sierra Nevada has even used it as a bittering addition.
It is a great choice for use in Porters.
