Horizon
Horizon is a USA grown dual purpose hop that has a Cultivar/Brand ID of 7006-398. It has an alpha acid that can range from 8.8 to 16.5% and a beta acid of 5.5 to 8.5%. It is a diploid hop and a half sister to Nugget.
It has aromas floral bouquet, citrus notes and spicy undertones. Horizon has low co-humulone levels that make it very similar to noble varities. It will provide a smooth bitter note.
It is a great choice for Ales (specifically Red Ales) and Lagers alike.
If you are looking for a substitute we recommend Magnum (GR), Magnum (US), and Nugget (US)/Nugget (BC).
Horizion is occasionally found as a hop oil/extract. It is also available as a whole leaf hop quite frequently.
