Pilgrim
Pilgrim is a UK grown dual purpose hop that has an alpha acid of 9-13% and a beta acid of 4-5.5%.
It has typical rounded, full-bodied English-Sytle bitterness.
Pilgrim has complex flavors and aromas of deeply fruity and spicy, grassy herbs. There are notes of lemon and grapefruit citrus, verdant berries and pears that give way to spice, cedar and honey notes. It is intenesely aromatic of herbs and sweet pineapple with creamy yogurt that comes together with vegetal artichoke and ethereal lemon aromas. All of these are complimented by fine notes of chocolate and fruity strawberry. There are even pronounced notes of aromatic marjoram, chili, fennel, and licorice. Describing Pilgrim as complex might even be an understatement!
It is a great choice for use in Ales, Wheat Beers, Stouts, Helles, English Pale Ales, IPAs, Barleywines, Imperial Sotuts, and Lagers.
If you are looking for a substitution we recommend Pioneer, UK Challenger and UK Target.
