Progress
Progress is a UK grown aroma acid that has an alpha acid of 5-7.6% and a beta acid of 1.8-3.3%.
It has an aroma that includes sweet spring grass, floral, mint, sweet, honey and black currant with an undertone of earthy flavor notes. The woody aromatic aromas have touches of red fruit like cassis while vegetal and creamy flavor notes come together to create a strong rust aroma of herbal coriander, white cabbage and brewers yeast. The fruity herbal and woody notes combine with all of the other aromas to create a moderately strong hop with spicy aromas.
It is a great choice for use in Bitters, Cask Ales, English Ales, English Pale Ales, English IPAs, Milds, Browns, Scottish Ales, Brown Porters, Stouts, and Porters.
If you are looking for a substitution we recommend Fuggle (UK) or UK East Kent Goldings.
