BRU-1 is an aroma hop that has an alpha acid range from 13 to 15% and a beta acid range of 8-10%. It is typically only used in late boil additions, which includes dry hopping. It is extremely unique for its true pineapple flavor.
BRU-1 is most notable for the distinct sweet fruit aroma that is often described as pineapple, when using it as a whirlpool or dry hop addition it will give an aroma of freshly cut pineapple and green fruits. It has been shown to improve haze stability in certain beer styles and it is extremely synergistic with other hops creating a depth of fruit flavor found in few other hops.
It is a great choice for use in Wheats, Pale Ales, IPAs, and NEIPAs.
