Wuerttemberger
Wuerttemberger is a German grown aroma hop that has an alpha acid around 5% and a beta acid around 4%. It is not the same hop as Wurttemberg which is another German and now American grown hop varietal. You can distinguish the two by the USDA Cultivar/Brand ID of USDA 21682 for Wuerttemberger.
It is an old native noble hop that is typically not grown for commercial use much anymore but it is still occasionally found from smaller hop farms. There is some conjecture that it is genetically identical to Tettnanger but that remains unproven.
It features pleasant European-Style noble aromas that express as mild herbal, spicy and earthy notes.
It is a great choice for use in Lagers and Pilsners.
