Huell Melon (Hüll Melon)
Huell Melon (sometimes seens as Hüll Melon) is a German aroma hop owned by Hop Research Center in Hull (EU-PVR) that has a Cultivar/Brand ID of 2009/2/706. It has an alpha acid of 6-8% and a beta acid of 6-9%. It was released in 2012.
Huell Melon has a pleasantly sweet and fruity aroma similar to honeydew melon with hints of strawberries. It is full of fruit like melon, wild strawberry, orange and peach tea all rounded off with creamy vanilla yogurt notes that are complemented by an herbal, spicy and floral aroma of lemon balm, aniseed, lavender and geranium.
It is recommended for use in Hefenweizen, Belgian Ales, Summer Seasonal Beer, Brett Fermentations, Wheat Beers, IPAs, and Pale Ales.
A suitable substitution for Huell Melon could be Belma® or Jarrylo®.
