Northdown (UK)
Northdown is a UK grown dual purpose hop that has an alpha acid range of 7-10% and a beta acid range of 4-5%. It is the offspring of Northern Brewer and Challenger and is an aunt to Target.
It features fresh yet rich flavors of spicy fresh pine, floral notes and berry tones. The aromas include pleasant spice, cedar and pine characteristics with hints of floral and berry flavors.
It makes a great addition to your Mild Ales, Old Ales, Barleywines, English Ales, Heavy Ales, Porters, Stouts and Bocks.
You could possibly substitute Northdown with Northern Brewer (US), Northern Brewer (GR), Target, Challenger (UK)/Challenger (US) or Admiral.
