Sterling is a USA aroma hop that can also be used as a dual purpose hop. It has an alpha acid of 5.5-9% and a beta acid of 4-6%. The Cultivar/Brand ID is 9043-52.
It has a pleasant noble aroma of spicy herbal notes with hints of floral and citrus.
It is a great choice for use in Hop-Forward Lagers, Belgian Ales, Ales, Lagers, Wheat Beers, and Pilsners.
If you are looking for a substitute we recommend using Saaz (US), Saaz (CZ), or Mount Hood.
Sterling is frequently used with other hops and most often is combined with Chinook (US), Cascade (US), and Centennial (US).
