Strata® (X-331)
Strata® is an USA dual purpose hop that has an alpha acid range from 11 to 12.5% and a beta acid range of 5-7%. It can be used successfully in as both a bittering hop and a flavor and aroma hop as well as whirlpool or dry hop additions.
Strata® was developed by Indie Hops and sometimes seens as X-331 or OR91331. Late hot side additions will bring out rounded tropical fruit plus bright fresh fruit flavors. When dry hopping with Strata® grapefruit and cannabis notes come to the forefront.
It is an extremely layered hop with many different fruit flavors - both dried and fresh - that come across as the aromas and flavors but all of those fruits are anchored with a dried chili-cannabis funk. There is also some notes of passionfruit plus strawberry and without a doubt some dankness.
It is a great choice for use in IPAs, Pale Ales, Stouts, Sours, Saisons, and Lagers.
Subtitutes for Strata® would be Galaxy® or Mosaic® (HBC 369).
It plays well with Citra®, Simcoe®, Nelson Sauvin™, Mosaic® (HBC 369), Sabro® (HBC 438), Chinook (US), Cascade, and Crystal.
Strata® is often available in Whole Leaf Hop Form.
