Styrian Golding (Styrian Savinjski Goldings)
Styrian Golding is an aroma hop that goes by many different names indlugin: Styrian, Savinja Golding, Savinjski Golding, Styrian Savinjski Golding, and Yugoslavia Golding. It has an alpha acid of 2.8-6% and a beta acid of 2-3%.
Although the name would suggest that it is related to Golding hops, it is rather a closer relative to Fuggle, and retains many of those characteristics.
It has an aroma that is not only resinous and earthy but has hints of white pepper.
It is a great choice for use in Extra Special Bitters (ESBs), Ales, Lagers, and Belgian Ales.
If you are looking for a substitute we recommend using Fuggle, Willamette, or Bobek.
