Talus® (HBC 692)

Talus® is a US grown aroma hop that has an alpha acid range of 7-10% and a beta acid of 8-11%. It is owned by and was released by Hop Breeding Company under Cultivar/Brand ID HBC 692. It was formerly known as HBC 692 until it was renamed Talus®. It is the daughter of Sabro.

It is mainly used for whilrpool additions and dry hopping additions.

Talus® features high intensity aromas of pink grapefruit, citrus rind, dried roses, floral notes, stone fruit, potpourri, woody tones, cream accents, tropical fruit, sage, pine and resinous notes. There are also hints of lime and red currants. It really packs a big punch with big aromas of pink grapefruit, citrus rinds, dried roses, pine resin, tropical fruits and sage.

It is a good choice for your Wheat Beers, Golden Ales, American Lagers, Pale Ales, IPLs, IPAs, Session IPAs, NEIPAs, Hazy IPAs, Juicy IPAs, and Imperial IPAs.

You could possibly substitute Sabro® (HBC 438), Cascade (US) or Comet for Talus®.

It is sometimes found in Lupulin powder/pellet form under brands such as Cryo-Hops and LUPOMax.

Talus® plays well with other hops and is commonly used in conjunction with Cascade (US), Centennial (US) and Chinook (US).
