Triskel
Triskel is a French grown aroma hop that has an alpha acid range of 2.8-9% and a beta acid range of 4-5.5%. Owned by Hops France under Cultivar/Brand ID P 09-18, it is a child of Strisselspalt.
The inherited aromatic notes of its parent Strisselspalt are particularly pronounced and the oil content makes for interesting potential in late hopping and dry hopping hop schedules. The alpha acid content also creates an interesting alternative for first wort hopping as well.
There are notes that come across in aroma and flavor as fruity, citrusy and flower. Yet there are also notes of cream/caramel such as toffee combined with strawberry aromas and green vegetal artrichokes, peppers and nettles. Woody aromatic tobacco notes are also contributed as well as hints of creamy yogurt with sweet honey, fruity peach, watermelon and floral geranium.
It is a great option for your Belgian Ales, Saisons, Kolsch, Pilsners, Pale Ales, IPAs, Lagers and Wheat Beers.
Possible substitutions for Triskel include Strisselspalt, Ahtanum®, Centennial (US), Chinook (US) and Simcoe®.
