This German Version of Brewer's Gold (which is also known as C9a) is typically a bittering hop that has an alpha acid range from 4.5 to 11% and beta acid range of 2.9-6.5%. It has been bred since 1917 and has been produced commercially since 1919.

It is an extremely versatile hop that has clean bittering and a good woody and earthy aroma with notes of black currant and fruity and spicy characters.

It is a great choice for use in English Ales, American Ales, European Ales, German Ales, Belgian Ales, Dark Ales, Stouts and American Lagers.

If you are looking for a substitute we recommend Galena, Bullion (UK), Bullion (US), Cascade, Northern Brewer (US), Northdown, Chinook (US), Chinook (BC), Nugget (US), Nugget (BC), or Brewer's Gold (US).
