Hallertau Mittelfruh (US)

This US grown version of Hallertau is an aroma hop has an alpha acid range of 3.5-6.5% and a beta acid range of 2.5-6.5 %. It originated from the classic Hallertau Mittelfruh strain of Germany. It is frequently grown in Michigan now.

Hallertau (US) is extremely similar to the German varietal and features a mild and pleasant yet spicy aroma and flavor with herbal and floral characteristics. There are also some subtle citrus notes.

It is a great choice for your Classic Styles, German Styles, Belgian Ales, Bocks, Pilsners and Lagers.

It could possibly be substituted with Liberty, Mount Hood, Hallertau Mittelfruh (GR), Crystal, Hersbrucker or Hallertau Tradition.
