Hersbrucker is a German aroma hop with an alpha acid of 1.5-5% and beta acid of 2.5-6%.

Hersbrucker while not considered one of the 4 Noble Varietals is considered by many to be a Noble variety as well. The aromas include: Floral and Herbal, Elements of Fruit and Dominant Spice, Hay, Tobacco and Orange.

It is recommended for use in Munich Style Pale and Dark Lagers, Dunkels, Strong Ales, Altbiers, Weizenbocks, Golden Ales, Marzen, Oktoberfest, Festbier, Pale Ales, Wheat Beers, Specialty Ales, Hefeweizens, Light Ales, Lagers, Weissbeir, Bock, Wheat Beer, Kolsch, Helles, and Pilsners.

If you are looking for a substitute we recommend Hallertau (US), Hallertau Mittelfruh (GR), Liberty, Spalt, French Strisslespalt or Mt. Hood.
