This US grown varietal of Northern Brewer is a bittering hop that has an alpha acid range of 7-10% and a beta acid range of 3-5.5%. It features the Cultivar/Brand ID of WFB 135.

It has slightly higher alpha acids and a higher myrcene oil content than the original German Northern Brewer varietal, even though it is grown directly from the German rhizomes planted here showcasing the terrior differences that can happen with hops.

Northern Brewer (US) has aromas of evergreens, wood and mint all combined with peppery aromas.

It makes a great addition to your Porters, Ales, Kolsch, Munich Helles, ESBs, German Lagers, English Pale Ales, Lambics, Porters, California Commons, European Ales, American Ales, Lagers and Stouts.

You could possibly substitute Northern Brewer (US) with Northern Brewer (GR), Brewer's Gold (GR)/Brewer's Gold (US), Perle (GR)/Perle (US), GalenaHallertau Magnum (GR), Magnum (US), or Chinook (US)/Chinook (BC).
