Hallertau Mittelfruh is a German aroma hop that has an alpha acid of 3-5.5% and a beta acid of 3-5.5%. You may occasionally see it referenced simply as Hallertau or even as Hall Mitt. Very rarely you may see it named Hallertauer Mittelfruher.

It is prized for its fine elegant aromas and flavors and to many it is the epitome of noble hop flavor and aromas.

It is known for its aromatic properties that come across as mild yet spicy with floral and citrus tones that are all highlighted by a spicy woody aroma of myrrh, carnation and lilac combined with red currant and lemon tones.

It is recommended for use in European Style Lagers, Altbiers, Belgian Ales, Pilsners, Bocks, American Lagers, Lagers, Wheat Beers, and Cask Ales.

If you are looking for a substitute we recommend Hallertau (US), Vanguard, Hallertauer Tradition, Liberty, or Ultra.
