Hallertau Taurus (Hallertauer Taurus)
Hallertau Taurus is a UK grown dual purpose hop has an alpha acid range of 12-18.9% and a beta acid range of 3-6%. It has a Cultivar/Brand ID of 88/55/13 and is sometimes seen as Hallertauer Taurus or simply Taurus.
It features the highest xanthohumol content of any hop. Xanthohumol is a potent antioxidant.
Hallertau Taurus has earhty aroms with hints of chocolate, banana, spice, pepper and curry. The spicy aroma of pepper and curry is mixed with freshly chopped wood all complimented by nuances of ripe bananas and plain chocolate.
It is a great choice for your German Ales, Schwarzbiers, Oktoberfests, Festbiers and Marzens.
It could possibly be substituted with Hallertau Magnum (GR), Magnum (US), Citra®, Hallertau Tradition, Merkur, or Herkules.
