Loral® (HBC 291)

Loral® is a USA grown aroma hop that has an alpha acid range of 10-17% and a beta acid range of 1.5-6.5%. It is owned by the Hop Breeding Company under Cultivar/Brand ID HBC 291. It features the lineage of Nugget as its father and Glacier as its mother.

It has a super noble hop aroma profile that is very pleasant and floral with peppery citrus aromas all mixed with dark fruit characteristics. The earthy and herbal notes in Loral® stay more subdued. It shows more traiditional yet unique characters with herbal, floral, and spicy notes than traditionally anticipated with noble hop varities.

Loral® is a great choice for your IPAs, Pale Ales, Lagers, Pilsners, Saisons and Wheat Beers.

You could possibly substitute Glacier, Nugget (US), Strisselspalt, or Tardif de Bourgogne for Loral®.

It is found in Lupulin Powder/Pellet form through brands like LUPOMax and Cryo-Hops.
