Pacific Jade (NZ)
Pacific Jade is a New Zeland dual purpose hop that is primarily used as an aroma hop. It has an alpha acid of 12-15% and a beta acid of 7-9%. It was releaesed by NZ Hops Ltd under HORT1524.
It delivers bold aroma characteristics of fresh citrus and complex spice characters.
Pacific Jade has an interesting flavor profile of lemon citrus and cracked pepper with some bold herbal aromas. If it is added as an early addition it will impart a soft, rounded bitterness.
It is recommended for use in Lagers, Ales, Pale Ales, Porters and IPAs.
If you are looking for a substitute we recommend Magnum (US), Hallertau (US), Saaz (CZ), and Cluster.
Pacific Jade is frequently used in conjunction with Citra®, Nelson Sauvin™, and Pacifica™.
