Amarillo® (GR)

Amarillo® (GR) is a German grown aroma hop with an alpha acid of 7-11% and a beta acid of 5.5-8%. 

While similar to Amarillo® (US) the terroir of the hop shines through with this varietal. There are citrus notes with spicy herbal and woody tones accented by some stone fruit and lots of citrus and grapefruit.

It works well in IPAs, Juicy IPAs, Pale Ales, Porters, Wheat Beers and Amber Ales.

Amarillo® (GR) could be substituted with Amarillo® (US), Cascade (US), Cascade (BC), Centennial (US), Centennial (BC), Chinook (US), Chinook (BC), Summer or Simcoe®.

It is available in Lupulin Powder/Pellet form under brands like Cryo-Hops and LUPOMax. Cryo-Amarillo® can be found here.

Caryophyllene: 5-8%

All Others (including β-pinene, linalool, geraniol & selinene): 6-28%
Linalool: 0.4-0.8%
β-pinene: 0.5-0.9%
Geraniol: 0.1-0.3%
