The British Columbia (BC), Canada version of Cascade is an aroma hop although it has been also used as a dual purpose hop. It has an Alpha Acid of 4.5-9% and a Beta Acid of 4.8-9%.

Cascade has been successfully grown in many areas including New Zealand where it is known as Taiheke, Argentia and Australia. It is an incredibly hearty hop.

It has a moderate bitterness and and is defined by citrus notes specifically grapefruit with medium-intense floral and spice citrus aromas. It can be also described as having pink grapefruit notes combined with passionfruit, mango and currants. It is Fragrant, Flowery, Pleasant, Spicy, Citrusy, Grapefruit, and Piney.

It's a great choice for Highly Hopped West Coast Ales that have a citrus-floral hop character, Pale Ales, Blondes, Wheats, IPAs, American Ales, American Pale Ales, Barleywines, Witbiers, Stouts, and Porters.

If you are looking for a substitute we recommend  Amarillo® (US), Amarillo® (GR), Centennial (US), Centennial (BC), Ahtanum®, Cascade (US), Summit™, and possibly Columbus (US), Columbus (BC) or CTZ.
