Summit™ has aromas of pepper, incense, anise, oranges, pink grapefruits and tangerines. There are some earthy aromatics and subtle hints of citurs and it can at times have notes of sulfur like garlic or onion. There are spicy herbal properties like eucalyptus and pepper with excpetional vegetal overtones of celeriac, lovage and wild garlic. This complex hop also has green vegetal and spicy notes like tomato leaves, onion, aniseed and marjoram rounded out with woody notes of incense and sulphur. Finally the citrus elements of grapefruit and fruity cassis are blended with floral lily-of-the-valley tones.
It is a great choice for use in Hoppy American Ales, IPAs, Double IPAs (DIPAs), Imperial IPAs, Stouts, Pale Ales, and Wheat Beers.
If you are looking for a substitute we recommend using Columbus (US), Tomahawk, Zeus, CTZ, Warrior®, Millennium, Amarillo® (US), Cascade (US), or Simcoe®.
Summit™ is frequently available in hop oil/extract form and in whole leaf hop form.
It is used with many hops and pairs nicely with several most notably Citra®, Nugget (US), Chinook (US), Centennial (US), Amarillo® (US) and Simcoe®.
