El Dorado®
El Dorado® is a dual use hop that is grown in the USA and has an alpha acid range from 13 to 17% and a beta acid range of 5.5-8%. It is owned by CLS Farms, LLC.
There is a unique fruity flavor with this hop that also contains a desirable bittering and aromatic properties. It has a soft and balanced bitterness.
There are fruity notes and bold bright tropical fruit flavors - think pineapple and mango - as well as a serious resinous back note. On the nose, there are aromas of pear, watermelon, stone fruit and even candy.
El Dorado® is a great choice for use in these beer styles: Wheat Beer, American Pale Ale, Pale Ale, IPA, Lager, and Cream Ale.
If you are looking for a substitution we recommend using Galena or Simcoe®, Citra®, Nelson Sauvin™ , or Rakau™ (NZ).
El Dorado® can be found in Lupulin Powder/Pellet form through brands such as Cryo-Hops and LUPOMax. It is also frequently found in a hop oil/extract form and in whole hop leaf form.
This hop plays wonderfully with other hops and is frequently mixed with Citra®, Mosaic® (HBC 369), Amarillo® (US), Simcoe®, Motueka™, Galaxy® and Cascade (US).
