Spalter Select (Select) (Spalt Select)

Spalter Select is a German grown aroma hop that has an alpha acid range of 3-6.5% and a beta acid of 2.5-6%. It is known under Cultivar/Brand ID 78/3/34 and also under the names Spalt Select and simply Select. It is not the same hop as Spalt (Spalter).

Spalter Select has aromas of spicy and grassy tones as well as some special and unusal aromas that combine thyme and apple blossoms with spicy herbal wormwood and tart citrus fruits.

It is a great choice for use in your Kolsch, Belgian Ale, French Ale or Lager.

You could possibly substitute Tettnanger (GR), Saaz (CZ), Spalt (Spalter), Perle (GR), or Hallertau Tradition.
