Calypso™
Calypso™ is a USA dual use hop owned by Hopsteiner that is also known as #03129. It has an alpha acid range from 12 to 16% and a beta acid range of 5-6%.
There are crisp, fruity aromas and flavors that are reminiscent of apple, pear and stone fruit while being brightened with hints of lime citrus. It is a complex hop that has an almost understated earthy or tea-like note.
It is a great choice for use in these beer styles: Pale Ales, IPAs, Golden Ales, Porters, Bitters, Ales, Stouts, and Barleywines.
Calypso™ are available in Lupulin Powder through Cryo-Hops and LUPOMax brands and as a hop oil/extract. They are also frequently available as whole leaf hops.
If you are looking for a substitution we recommend Galena, Cascade (US), Cascade (BC), Huell Melon or Belma®.
Calypso™ play well with other hops are frequently seen being used with Mosaic® (HBC 369), Citra®, Ekuanot® (HBC 366) (Equinox), and Azacca®.
